Claire: My name is Claire Wallace and I am a Regional Sales Manager in the UK.

Scott: My name is Scott McCracken I work down in cell culture Manufacturing; I am a shift Manager down there.

Claire: I love the variety of the job like no day is the same; there is no typical day in Invitrogen

Scott: In the 10 years I have be here it has been very varied in that there has been great opportunity for me to develop and to move forward with my career.

Claire: It is a very passionate place to work I mean people come here they don’t work a 9-5 job they care about the job they care about the science they care about the customers.

Scott: I certainly get a feeling of pride when I am talking about my job if I am talking to someone that I have just met then I do like to say well I work with Invitrogen and this is what we do.

Claire: Quite often we have to take someone who has just a science background and we teach them how to be commercial and we can coach them and develop them into that role and by same token we can take someone with has just a commercial background but no science and try again develop their scientific knowledge.

Scott: If you do have ambition, you are willing to learn, you want to work within a very successful company who are continually striving to grow and develop. Then this is a great place to come and work for.

Claire: You know I would love to recommend Invitrogen to any of my friends and have done in the past. I would say it is just a great company to work for and probably one of the best life sciences companies in the world so it is a nice comfortable feeling to go in and talk to people when you know you have the products to back up the talk.
