I've worked with Invitrogen for 14 years and I've enjoyed every minute. I've an Honours Degree in Applied Biology and worked in the NHS in Quality Control, then moved here as a Senior Scientist in the company's QC labs. I progressed to QC Manager. For 5 years, I enjoyed the role. Then I was approached for a sales role within the Bioproduction Sale Team as UK Account Manager. Within 2 years, I progressed to Senior Account Manager- despite two baby breaks along the way. In February, I was promoted to UK Sales Manager within the company's research arm. I've a team of 7 people and it's my job to keep them focused, driven and happy. Invitrogen is a very successful company and this is demanding so I love it when members of my team are successful, recognised and rewarded. More than ever, the company focuses on staff training and development. In Sales, new staff spends their first 6 weeks training before they speak to a customer.
